What is the Quarter Field used for?

The Quarter Field Type allows you to plan work using calendar quarters (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) instead of specific dates. This is useful when you know roughly when work will be completed but cannot commit to an exact date.

Can I use the Quarter field in JQL searches?

Yes. You can filter issues by quarter using JQL queries. For example:

customfield_xxxxx = "2024-Q1"

Replace customfield_xxxxx with your Quarter field's custom field ID.

How do I configure the year range for quarters?

Navigate to Admin ⚙ > Apps > Quarter Field Configuration, then edit your Quarter field to set the Start Year and End Year values.

Can I have multiple Quarter fields?

Yes. You can create multiple Quarter fields for different purposes (e.g., one for planned work, one for actual completion). Each field must be configured separately.
